There are 62 scheduled tribes in Odisha  and 13 out of these 62 tribes include are known as "Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups". The tribes of Odisha are protected tribes and some of them live in seclusion and follow their old customs and traditions. People from outside can mostly meet them when they come to sell their products in the village markets.

About the tour

This special tribal tour of Odisha starts in the city of Vishakhapatnam which is well connected with all major cities in India. From here travel to the tribal heartlands of Odisha. Stay in an Eco Tourism camp which is a community based Rural Tourism Initiative based on the principles of Responsible travel practice where a part of the earning is spent to conserve the Eco system. Visit weekly markets where the interesting tribal groups like Paraja, Mali, Kondh come and sale various seasonal vegetables, fruits. Visit Gadaba tribal village and pottery maker village.  Meet one of the most primitive and interesting aborigin tribes of India named BONDA. The Bonda people inhabit in a hill range called Bonda hills and once in a week walk down to Ounkadelli weekly market to sale their home made alcohol . While coming to market, especially Bonda ladies adorn their upper body with lot of jewelleries and ornaments.  Walk to a tribal village and spend the day with the villagers. Experience their life style, agricultural pattern and enjoy lunch with a tribal family. 

Also visit Mangalajodi and Chilika lake for birdwatching
