Daywise itinerary
Day 1 : Arrive New Delhi. New Delhi is the capital of India. Being the seat of many great empires, Delhi has a lot of grand old tombs and monuments, architectural wonders and modern stately buildings.
Day 2 : Today morning after breakfast leave for full day city tour visiting Qutub Minar, India gate (war memorial), Lakshminarayan Temple - modern Hindu temple, drive past President's House, Parliament House & Secretariat Building. Afternoon sights-seeing of Old Delhi visit Rajghat & Shanti Vana (the cremation sites of Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru), Jama Masjid and drive past Red fort and Chandni Chowk. Overnight in hotel.
Day 3 : Today after breakfast drive to Jaipur 275 km (approx six hours) from Delhi. Founded by Maharaja Jai Singh II in the year 1727, Jaipur is the first planned city of India. Jaipur is famously called the “Pink City” as buildings in the old walled city are constructed in pink-colored sandstone. On arrival check-in at the hotel. Afternoon visit the charming local markets of the old city. Evening visit Chokhi Dhani (optional, extra cost). This is a unique village resort showcasing the traditional lifestyle of Rajasthan. Here, savour authentic Rajasthani cuisine, including the famous Indian platter. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 4 : Today after breakfast leave for excursion to Amer Fort, enjoy elephant ride (on own) up the hill on which the fort is situated. Perched on a hill in the suburbs of Jaipur, the fort was once the capital of Rajasthan. Former residence of Rajput Maharajas, the fort is notable for its grand architecture showcasing Hindu style of art. Later, explore the City Palace complex that is comprised of two palaces, Chandra Mahal and Mubarak Mahal, a museum, a vast array of courtyards, gardens and buildings. Other places to visit include Hawa Mahal (Palace of Wind), Jal Mahal (Water Palace), and Jantar Mantar (an observatory). Overnight at the hotel.
Day 5 : After breakfast drive to Agra 240 km (approximately five hours) away, the home of Taj Mahal. En-route visit Fatehpur Sikri. Built by Emperor Akbar in 1569 it is an UNESCO World Heritage site showcasing the grandeur of Mughal architecture.
This evening, visit the magnificent Taj Mahal, described by poets as “a teardrop on the cheek of eternity”. The monument was built as a mausoleum by Shah Jahan in the memory of his favourite wife, Mumtaz Mahal. When included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983, it was described as the jewel of Muslim art in India and one of the universally admired masterpieces of the world's heritage.
Day 6 : Today sightseeing of Agra visiting the Agra Fort a World UNESCO Heritage Site. Also visit Tomb of Itmad - ud- daula. Thereafter drive to New Delhi. On arrival check-in at the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 7 : Today after breakfast, transfer to New Delhi airport for your onward flight.
